Preparing the Machine Area

To prepare the area where the machine will be installed, you need to consider the following requirements:

• The physical dimensions of the machine

• The area that must be left free around the machine for easy access to the cables, connectors, and parts to be replaced.

• Environmental constraints

Access to the Unit

All cable connectors, a set of LEDs, and all adapters are accessible from the same side of the IBM 2212. An additional set of slot-status LEDs are on the side opposite the cable connectors.
